KOMTAR LRT Station (S20) is a light rail transit station on the Penang
Mutiara Line, planned for the heart of George Town near KOMTAR Tower. Its
central location will provide rail access to one of Penang Island's main
commercial and public transport areas.
The station is expected to serve office workers, shoppers, tourists and
visitors travelling to nearby destinations, including KOMTAR Tower, 1st
Avenue Mall and the surrounding city-centre shopping and business districts.
It will also support connections with local bus services, making it easier
to continue journeys around George Town.
As a key city-centre station, KOMTAR will help connect George Town with
residential communities, employment areas and other major destinations along
the Mutiara Line. It is also planned to serve as an important interchange
for future rail connections.
Passenger drop-off and pick-up arrangements will help commuters connect
between private vehicles, e-hailing services and the LRT network.
